I've achieved a stable 3.0 GHz OC on my Q6600 (333 X 9), but needed to upgrade to a Zalman 9500 + AS5 to do it.

Stock cooling, both case panels off, 1.2500v led to a load temp of ~73 73 69 69 then blue screen core dump.
Zalman 9500 (full fan) + AS5, both case panels off, 1.2500v load of ~ 65 65 59 59 stable.

Room temp is around 72F both times. Is (only) an 8 - 10 degree drop normal at load? Idle seems to be down to 37 37 29 29.

(I didn't lap the HS or chip. The HS was very smooth out of the box, and I will not lap a chip on principle. The AS5 was applied a bit thick, but was scraped down and smoothed off by a credit card for an even, thin coat.)
