t7700 in E1705/945pm what speed -> t7600 speeds ?

Can anyone help with this stupid question. I have to replace my sl8vn t2600 witha newer cpu might as well get the cheapest / best performance that would work.

The intel t7700 $400 is 2.4ghz /800mhz fsb but installing it into a 667mhz fsb will result into what speeds ?

I could have had a x7800 engineering for $450 + shippping instead of the overpriced t7600 $650+ if only I knew the answer.
Suggestions / ideas ?

The 945pm / e1705 / xps m1710 = same motherboard only difs' is led connectors.

Most likely the bus will drop to 400Mhz and you will not see a 667FSB.
The BIOS will most likely recognize all of those chips and run them at the correct speed.

Sounds like this is for a DELL Laptop and most retail system BIOS system will not allow for the changing of the FSB.
