I just bought my wife a Samsung 204BW
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16824001087

The resolution is 1680 X 1050. Her office computer has an Intel (R) 82865G Integrated Graphics Controller.
http://www.intel.com/support/graphics/sb/CS-022544.htm

The chip supports:
The set of basic static display modes (at 60Hz and up to 32bpp colors) include 640x480, 800x600, 1024x768, 1280x1024, and 1600x1200.

Question: Will this monitor work or do I need to buy her a 1600 X 1200 LCD.

I need to know asap so i can cancel the newegg order before it ships.

SHOULD work since 1680x1050 is smaller then 1600x1200. But you should probably buy a cheap, very cheap GPU to runt eh screen stuff off of. It really does help even if you arent on 3d apps. 0ne less thing for the CPU to do.

I see that the total pixals are less, but the 1680 is more than the 1600. Does this matter?

If I use the monitor at home instead on her office computer, will this work with her ATI 9600 PRO

The 1680 X 1050 is not listed here. Am I just confused???????????????
