If you are getting an AMD processor than go with the MSI platinum 790FX mobo. It's AM2+ and will accomodate your 5600+ just fine with plenty room to upgrade. It's also certified crossfire and can support up to DDR2 1066. This is a very overclockable motherboard assuming that that is what you plan to do with it.

Dont get old tech when you can get a brand new 790FX

Personnally I would go with the MSI platinum 790FX chipset. This is super overclockable and relatively future proof when it comes to newer tech next year. Plus you can run up to 4 ATI cards in what's called quad crossfire

I'm not sure why the MSI platinum 790FX has been removed from newegg. Maybe check the manufacturer website. I have yet to see some good reviews comparing the different 790FX boards.

I like this board personnally... Although I am a MSI fanboy

I would stick with this chipset though. The 790FX has a lot going for itself and upgradeability. Have you thought about processors yet? Do you want to jump the gun with the 9500 seeing that it's the only one available for get a cheaper X2 now and upgrade to quad later? I would look at the 5000+ black edition. It is fast and overclockable and you can upgrade to the faster quads later.

Also I would wait on a GPU since you have a good 1950. FAster chips will be available in Jan. 1950 will still be good on games for DX9.

Hope some of this helps... tell me what you think!

If you plan to upgrade in January then some things may be different. More reviews will be written and new bios flashes will have been out. So the 790FX will either be better or worse. We'll see what mobo is the best as far as expert reviews here in the next few weeks/months. I would stick with it as it's going to be a good buy and an affordable one at that.

The 5000+ black edition is an unlocked chip or processor. You can overclock it as far as your mobo will let you. Overclocking is easy and if you havent gotten into it I highly suggest you learn. The 5000+ black edition is also a 65nm manufacturing process. Meaning it's smaller and will heat up less resulting in higher overclock results.

If I were you and you didnt want to wait get the more expensive gigabyte 790FX and a 5000+ black edition (cheaper than the 5600+ by a few bucks... might make up for added mobo price)

Hard drives are important factors when it comes to maps loading on games. If you want to be the first person in a server in games then get faster hard disk. If not than use older one. Also if you still plan to use older video card make sure it's pci-e

si the point is black edition OC better than either 5600 or 6000?

yeah i rather to wait few months to get reviews on 790 chipset.

yeah im support with PCIE cuz its faster right. my x1950 pro is PCIe

yes the point of the black edition is that it overclocks tremendously better than all other amd cpus and that it's cheaper. if you dont know how to overclock we could tell you how to do it very easily and it would make that cpu worth while. consider that the 5000+ black edition can clock to 3.2 gigs air cooled easily and the 5600+ might make it to 3.0 gigs maybe.

pci-e is faster and obviously it's newer and wont support old agp 4x/8x. so you must have pci-e card for newer mobo.

If you want to wait for reviews go ahead but that is a long time waiting. personnally i would get the stuff now if you have the money so you can start enjoying it.

The DQ6 supports quad crossfire whereas the DS5 supports only dual crossfire

The DS4 is only a 790x chipset not a 790fx chipset. I would get the Dq6 or DS5 depending on your desire to have 4 video cards or just two.

AMD themselves say the MSI board is the best 790FX board currently available. I'd trust them in telling me what's best for their chip.

I personnally own a Foxconn mobo and would purchase one in a heartbeat EXCEPT for the 790FX series that they just released. The reason is because gigabyte and MSI have better mobo's period (like AMD said!) and also because look at how close those PCI-E slot's are. You will never be able to stick a 3870 with stock cooler right next to another one in crossfire. Too close to each other.

Just stick to you original inclination and get MSI. They are hands down selling a quality product!

i think i will stick with AMD 5000+ black edition and MSI platimun.

thanks guys for helping me
and also can you update anything if something new about AMD motherboards and i think my budget will be under 200 which MSI is under and good MOBO

i cant wait til put new mobo in my new thermaltake armor case with 5 fans. it will help keep cool down.
