Is there a new Intel C2D coming out soon?

Hiya,

Just wondering if there is any new Intel C2D processors coming out soon because I am almost ready to order a e4400 from zipzoomfly. My Asus p4p800 failed me after a power surge over the weekend, so I thought it is the perfect time to upgrade both MB and CPU (from 2.6 Northwood up). Will be getting the ASRock 4CoreDual-SATA2 so I can upgrade the CPU and keep old memory and the nww 7600GT AGP.

More about intel coming soon
  1. Very late this year, but nothing in the near term.
The new chips will not be anything revolutionary.

Mostly a die shrink to 45nm.
  2. yes, its called the X9999 elite, it is a 32 core proccesor with bits of human brain cell embedded in it, the clock rate is 5.2GHZ and it uses DDR-5 memory l
ol, no there isnt anything coming out that should make you not get a E4400 right now, nothing really new, i think with a bios update though you might be able to run the new proccesors later on your mobo
  3. Penryn CPUs (45nm) are due out in Q1 2008.
  4. I suggest getting the E4400 now with the way your system is setup it would suite you best. imo

    Best,

  5. @starcraftfanatic,

Man, are you behind the times! Everyone knows the quantum infinite-core multi-dimensional, hyper spatial, tachyon speed CPU based on alien black hole/quasar interface technology from the future is due shortly!
You know, the one with wormhole hyperthreading?

That's it! No more e4400! Time to take out a loan for this new CPU! Hmm, wonder what MB would I will needed to run it on? :p

Since there isn't any new CPU comign out soon, I am ordering the e4400. It should serve me well unti late next year when I build a new system.

    Thanks all!

Don't need a MB as the CPU runs in a virtual platform using the differental between ambient air temperature and CPU temperature to generate the necessary power.
  8. Oh, and the CPU will be free in a box of JackerJacks
  9. Don't forget the free hat
