I have a question can some one do a benchmark on an Overclocked Athlon 64 X2 and compare it to a factory Clocked AMD Athlon 64 X2 6400 to see if there is any simular in performance wise. Also a 3DMark would help. I don't bye that a Overclocked CPU is as good as a Factory clocked CPU. Can some one help me. And what is the max speed can I get out of a Athlon 64 X2 6000? It seems it dose not like anything past 3.2GHz.

Usually the only difference between factory clocked and overclocked is that the factory one is a raised multiplier. Overclocked ones require the raising of the FSB, unless you buy a chip with an unlocked multiplier, in which case they are almost identical.

I'm not sure if there is a difference between two CPU's running at the same speed w/ different methods of clocking (FSB vs. Multiplier). I'm still new to OC'ing my self, but maybe one of the vets can come in and set us straight. :p

Well you not quite right....

Factory oc'ed=stable at oc'ed speed's=*good warenty
Post oc'ed=can you tweak and modify it ehough to run stable at oc'ed speed's=*voided warenty

*not case in all situations

Hope this helped.

Oh well everything can vary all of the time you almsot never get the same score over and over again beacuse each cpu/gpu is a little bit different.
