I'm having some cooling issues with my 5200+ AM2 and the stock cooler,
CPU @ 56C idle and 62C load, maximum allowable temperature is 65C and I'm hovering a little too close to the limit.
I'd like the CPU to idle around 40C and run around 50C or so under load, will any of the following coolers help me to achieve this goal....?
Or should i just to Water-Cool the CPU and be done with it...?
I really don't want to RnR the motherboard at this point, Koolance allows mounting of the CPU water-block w/o pulling the mobo and i believe a couple of these Heat-Sinks will also allow mounting w/o pulling the mobo as well.
I'll do it if i have to, i just don't want to.....

hi... those would handle your cooling no prob if you have room in your case. stock cooler = heat lamp/ coolers listed = freezer.
your other question... you have to remove the mobo to install these.
just get a zalman 9500 chills my 5600 to 30* average and loaded tops about 47* 5600=cocklocked fx62... and no you don't have to remove the mobo, but the clip is tricky for a noob. i have about 2 inches to spare in my antec900...

My 5200+ was idleing at almost the same temps as yours. I bought a Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme and my idle temps are around 23degrees and max out at about 30 degrees - that's oc'd to 3.03 Ghz.

I use a Yate Loon 120mm fan for active cooling on the extreme.

Great purchase. I really recommend it.

Second the Ultra 120 eXtreme. I have it and it's fantastic. If you have a look at Anandtech, they have a very comprehensive listing of HSF's and there performance compared to each other. Here is a direct link (not necessary to read the review) to the chart in one of their HSF reviews:

As you can see, the Ultra 120 eXtreme is the top contender. Tuniq Tower performs close, HR-01 is not covered. The only thing that must be noted about the Ultra 120 (eXtreme or not) is the height. You have to have a deep case free of side door fans over the CPU area. I checked with Thermalright's website for the dimensions and then took a measuring tape and measured from the top of my motherboard, out to the edge of my case. If you can fit it in, the Ultra 120 eXtreme is in my opinion the best straight up, no gimmicks air cooler that you can get.

Advice taken, received the Thermalright Ultra-120 for the CPU
and the HR-03+ for the 8800GTS.
3 more 120mm fans (2 for the case, 1 for the CPU) and a 92mm for the HR-03+.
Total fans: 6-120mm, 1-80mm
