Programming with 2 screens

How useful is 2 monitors for programming? Worth to have two or more?

    Depends on how and what you program. Two screens are nice because you can have the compiler or whatever on the main screen, and a reference or sample on the second. Worth having two I'd say. More than 2 may be a bit cluttered.
  2. I could do with 3, but I work with 2. I do have 12-16 application windows open at any one time though.
  3. Depending on what you program, the more workspace you have, the better. A lot of programmers find themselves with a lot of applications and tools open, so it's a lot easier to have it all in view instead of allways switching between windows...
  4. Yes, I usually have my editor and compiler on one screen and my database management programs running on the other screen.
