Hello all!

I am looking for an enterprise class SATA drive and have narrowed the options down to:

Hitachi Ultrastar A7K1000 (750GB)
and the
WD Caviar RE2 (750GB)

The Hitachi is about $50-70 more expensive and only has a 3 year warranty as opposed to the WD 5 year.

However the Hitachi has a 32MB cache instead of a 16MB, it also has some proprietary technology called "smooth stream".

My question is does anyone have experience, or references to any comparisons between these two drives?
I would like to know if the Hitachi is worth the extra money.

thanks!

The Hitachi has a 5 yr. warrantee also, it's the Deskstar models that only have a 3yr.

Personally I'm waiting for ZipZoomFly to get more in stock so I can buy one!
