Laptop turning itself on and off by itself???

I have been using my windows vista dv6700 for about 3 years and it has been running fine until this morning. When i was searching the internet the whole screen suddenly went white with small black dots across the screen. I turned it off and ever since then it has been turning on (fan whirring and power button lighting up) for about 2 seconds then shutting back off. It has been doing this for about 10 hours now. I have tried taking the battery out and unplugging the cord and it has not helped. Can anyone tell me what to do to fix this issue in laymans terms? Im not exactly computer savvy. Thanks =]

You could try reseatting the RAM and see if that helps but more than likely this is related to the laptops internal Power Supply and will need to be replaced. The part itself is 50$ but requires moderate knowledge and a soldering kit. Or, take it to your nearest big box and pay ~ 350 to send it out for repair.
