Ok here's my question.

I currently have a 256-P2-N583-AR I want to run SLI as this card runs some of the newest games a little slow. As this card is discontinued i'm having trouble getting a 2nd same exact match.

I found a 256-P2-N563-AX for sale. As stated here http://www.evga.com/articles/317.asp these older cards had some problems.

If i buy this card, will i have any trouble running the 256-P2-N583-AR with the 256-P2-N563-AX.

they both are 7900gt's and both have 256mb but different model numbers.

please help

For SLI to work correctly, I think all you need is two cards from the same family/chip. Don't quote me on this, and I don't run SLI myself, but I thought I read this on the nVidia website before. Hopefully that'll point you in the right direction.

go and see some benchs ,SLI shines in 1920x1200 and higher , i dont mean SLI wont make a differenece at all in lower resolutions , but as i said it will mostly shines in 1920x1200 and higher , the difference gap between SLI cards in lower resolutions is alot lower than higher resolutions ,thats what i wanted to say

I upgradded to a 7900 GT SLI in August. I couldn't have been happier. I saw about a 20-35 FPS improvement along with a huge increase in minimum FPS. The SLI also allowed to get better results when using AA and AF. I run at 1280X1024 btw.
