Should my hard disk turn off after 20 minutes

Hello,
why does hard disk drive turn off after 20 minutes and is that crashing my home computer?

It turns off to save electricity. When and how often is your computer crashing?

everytime i turn it on and about 5-6 times one after another.

If your computer crashes then it reboots or is unusable until you reboot. If you're seeing Error or Access Violation dialogs, those are program crashes. Read the dialog and messages to see what program it is referring to.

ok, but sometimes it even crashes while rebooting itself and ive done file cleanups, disk cleanups, and daily virus scans...help!
