Hello Everyone

I was wondering if you could help me decide between going SLI or Crossfire.

At the min im updating my Computer to a Quad Core 2.4GHZ, DDR2 2GB 6400 CORSAIR, (Might go 4GB)
But the board i have chose is XFX S775 nForce 680i LT SLI DDR2 ATX but i will have to go with 2 x XFX GeForce 8600GT Fatal1ty 256MB DDR3 PCIE TV DVI

But i had my eye on getting 2 x Sapphire Technology Radeon X1950 PRO 512MB GDDR3 PCIE Dual DVI 580/700 but i that means i'l have to change my MB as they wont run together on that MB. Its ashame they both cant run on the MB mentioned above.

If any one can point me in the right direction and which way to go would be greatfull.. Im going to be using it for Games and would like the graphics to be on high and on high res too using a 19" crt.

Many Thanks in advance

Andyk9

I suggest going for either and getting a 2900pro or a 8800gts, one at first, then later on when games get laggy getting another.

2 8600gt/gts there really is no point.

Why?

SLI/Crossfire is only worth it on the ultra high-end or as perhaps an upgrade path later on. Hatman is right on go for the best single card you can afford today.

You really don't want to deal with all the hassle of dual cards, heat, power, and all to often disappointment.
