My friend had a system built for him by one of his other buddies a couple years ago. He doesn't have any discs to go along with the system. He wanted me to reinstall XP for him, once I did I tried connecting to the internet, no go. The network/ethernet controllers/drivers were not installed.
What would be the best way to go about getting the correct drivers?
I went to the ASUS site and downloaded the LAN driver under A7N266VM, didn't work.
Also note on that page that you need at least SP1 installed first. Personally I also like to have the latest DirectX installed too, before installing the video driver (included in that download).
While I don't recall using that particular driver on the A7N266 I have here, I do recall using an older version from nVidia entitled "nForce_2.03_WinXP_english.exe"
Before doing the above, check Device Manager to see if it identifies (lists) an unknown device. If there is none, you might need to first enable the network adapter in the bios.
