Possible to put an X360 HD-DVD drive into a PC 5.25 bay?

I tried googling this but couldn't find any info.

Is the drive inside microsoft's xbox360 HD-DVD unit a standard HD-DVD drive?
Would it be possible to put it into a 5.25 bay and connect it via SATA or IDE? or does it use proprietary connectors?

Cheers,
C1tY.

More about possible x360 drive
  1. why would you want to do this?
  2. The Xbox360 HD-DVD unit has it's own housing, power supply, and connects through a USB port. The actual drive uses a mini ATAPI connector found in laptops, and could be converted to IDE, but I don't know how you'd get power to it.
  3. I'm more interested in whether it's actually possible as opposed to actually doing it. But, to get a cheap HD-DVD drive for your pc is surely reason enough to consider it?
  4. Now you got me curious. Anyone? I second this though.
