Possible to put an X360 HD-DVD drive into a PC 5.25 bay? Tags: HD DVD Drives Components Last response: September 14, 2007 10:58 PM in Components Share Lost_C1tY September 13, 2007 2:59:33 PM I tried googling this but couldn't find any info. Is the drive inside microsoft's xbox360 HD-DVD unit a standard HD-DVD drive? Would it be possible to put it into a 5.25 bay and connect it via SATA or IDE? or does it use proprietary connectors? Cheers, C1tY. The actual drive uses a mini ATAPI connector found in laptops, and could be converted to IDE, but I don't know how you'd get power to it. | Report abuse Lost_C1tY September 13, 2007 3:45:28 PM I'm more interested in whether it's actually possible as opposed to actually doing it. But, to get a cheap HD-DVD drive for your pc is surely reason enough to consider it? | Report abuse Related ressources which one is better? ps3 or x360 ? - Forum does HD-DVD use red-laser or blue-laser ? - Forum does HD-DVD use red-laser or blue-laser ? - Forum Second Take: The PC Gaming Slump - Forum The Industry Reacts to X360 price & harddrive as an option - Forum Ask the community Publish bruce555 September 13, 2007 3:56:16 PM Now you got me curious.
