Should I upgrade my e6750 to a q6600?
It will cost me almost nothing.
I have:
e6750 @ 2.66 (no OC)
ASUS Striker Extreme
Corsair TwinMX 2 gb 4-4-4-12 800mhz
eVGA 8800 GTS 320 OC x 2 in SLI
Seasonic 650W S12 80+ PSU
SB Xfi extreme gamer with the xram
the rest is not relevant.

Thanks for your input! :hello:

Maziar, I am wondering that if this upgrade is almost free (under $50) why not eh?
I have no slowdowns on Bioshock or doom3 or any other game, but for future proofing purposes a quadcore is worth the $50...or is it?

well its a tough situation , if u were going to build , i would haverecommend Q6600 , but u have E6750 now and its a very good CPU , in some apps which doesnt utilize Quad , E6750 performs better because its 2.6 ,
if i were u i wouldnt do it , i myself had a change to upgrade my E6600 to Q6600 , but i didnt , i will wait for next gen quadcore , because wont the difference between my E6600 and Q6600 isnt very much in many apps , and also i dont do heavy Photoshop, 3DMAX ,or other heavy apps and my E6600 is serving me very well , i dont have any problems with it , i will upgrade to Quad for Sure , but not now

Again i say it , if U WERE GOING TO BUY A NEW SYSTEM , I WOULD HAVE RECOMMENDED Q6600 OVER E6750 , BUT WHEN U HAVE E6750 , I SAY DONT UPGRADE TO Q6600

No no not stolen...just an 'upgrade' I will still have the full warranty, it will be boxed and factory sealed with the HSF.

Back of truck haha.

I bought the e6750 less than a month ago and can exchange it for this and pay the diff, plus my friend works there so I get a discount...add it all up and it is less then $50, maybe less than $75...just to be safe.

Good advice thank you!
