The two DVD-ROMs on my old PC were NEC and Ricoh (The Ricoh DVD-RW was virtually silent even when writing) and they weren't nearly as loud as my new DVD-ROM LG GSA-H62N. Well, if it is not like jet plane at least like a vacuum cleaner. I don't even know how is it possible to create such noise! It doesn't makes any problems with reading or writing - it's just noisy! I noticed also that when it reads from CD the CD gets really hot - like it was just burned. Another weird thing is that when I look at the device in Device manager it shows its label as GH20NS10 but I bought LG GSA-H62N DVD RW /SATA. Are these two completely different models? I didn't buy the parts myself so maybe it was changed without notifying me or maybe there is something about the labeling of these two DVD-ROMs that I don't know? This is all very confusing. At least tell me whether it's normal for a new DVD-ROM to make such noise. :??: :pfff:
