Ok I will try to explain the problem the best I can. I have Vista installed. Home Edition. A couple of days ago I get a BSOD. Not uncommon lately. Usually does it about 1-2 times a week but I chalked it up to overheating. Anyways, when I restarted the computer it started to load then when the windows logo is supposed to come up I have a black screen with the little white "-" dash blinking in the left corner of the screen. Thats as far as it will go. I tried to load it up in safe mode but hitting F8 does nothing. Nothing in my bios will fix it. Can anyon here help me to get this thing running again? I really need my files and my computer running. Thanks in advance

I'd try a startup repair
something got corrupted

Boot to your installation disk, and after the language click repair in the bottom left corner.
Then do a startup repair
You may have to do this a few times, as windows only tries one fix @ a time.
