This is specifically for gaming and multimedia purposes. I've never built a pc, so I'm definitely not going to try and build something of this complexity. Is this a worthwhile investment for today's gaming as well as the future in gaming? I've heard that Quad-core processors aren't needed for a while yet. Even then, I can upgrade if I want to. I'd like some technical feedback on the compatibility, performance, and quality that I can get from this set up.

I don't know much about buypower, but first off, NZXT makes really nice cases, but they aren't good with PSUs, so change that one. Second, do not get the striker board, you are just wasting lots of money on a board and is not worth it at all. Get something cheaper and better.

Third, there is no reason at all to go with Ultra SLI. That's just a waste of money. If you have it to burn, go for GTX sli, but really one GTX will really hold you over till the newer cards, that are coming out around November, drop in price.

Sound card: well you really don't need to send that much. I would get a XtremeGamer and just a good set of speakers. IF you need a soundcard at all. Most onboard sound is really good.

For speakers get something a little better, at least a 2.1 unit, like logitech 230.

hmm That's about it. If you have any questions, let me know. Msg me anytime on yahoo or aim at Maximus9102. I'm always glad to help out. Good luck with your purchase! :)

Lose the blu ray, the E6850, the PSU, striker extreme, Coolermaster liquid cooling system, video cards, both HDDs, and the X-Fi platinum.

Get a Q6600, two eVGA SLI GTX, eVGA 680i mobo, danger den cooling system, a PC Power & Cooling silencer 750w or Antec TruePower Quattro 850/1000W, 750GB seagate barracuda, and maybe an X-Fi xtremegamer if you really want it.
