On my new evga motherboard, there is a plug called power 3 for supplying power to the graphics card. However, my evga 8800 gts has a seperate 6 pin power input on the car itself. DO I need to use both of these plugs? Or do I just disregard the one on my mother board since my card has the power on it?
The instructions are are very unclear on this.
Thanks

Thats called the "EZ plug-power SLI" or 4pin AUX power connection to use in SLI setup.
It's suppose to ensure that both PCI-Express cards receive optimal power when they don't have the additional molex/PCI-E power connectors. And if using a 20pin power supply connection instead of the now standard 24pin.

so should i run power to both the pwr 3 on th e mother board and the 6 pin power on the graphics card then?

Only if you have older cards like 6800's that dont have 6 pin molex power connection. So in your case noooooo

so just the 6 pin on the card and nothing to the power 3 correct?
