Need help for upgrading my pc(cpu or gpu)

Now i have system with the following config:
-Proc: Athlon64 X2 3800+AM2
-M/B: Gigabyte GA-M55-SLI S4
-RAM: 2x 512MB PC6400
-VGA: Forsa Geforce 7600GT
I am gamer and i always play many games at res 1024x768.I want to upgrade my PC.Now I have money to buy a new Core2Duo E6750,Abit P35,and 1 Harddisk Seagate 320GB SATA2 or buy a geforce 8800gts 320mb and a harddisk. What should i do to improve my game performance? Upgrading my CPU or my GPU?
