8800 Ultra @ 93c temp

hey Guys im New to this Tomshardware Forum
i have a problem here that my MSI 8800 Ultra used to run about 58c-64c but some how today i just leave my computer on without any program or games open, the computer is just sitting there doing nothing and the temp reach 93c is there any solution to this problem ? the card was fine from the first day i got it till today i run BF2142 at max setting and the temp is only 68c, my room temp is about 85f
here is my Zip code 90005 its in LA today is not that hot.

Try a graphics benchmark with something like 'riva tuner' open to graph the temps.
If they get too crazy there is a prob. 93 idle is a prob.

Open up the case check the fan is plugged in and spinning.

Fan faliure is very common.

The room temp may have something to do with that. If you don't feel like buying an air conditioner, maybe an air conditioned case? http://www.xoxide.com/nextherm-air-conditioned-no-psu.h... It is kind of hard to run cool when pulls hot air in... wait is that even physically possible, with out a double standard? lol.

More seriously, check for sufficient air flow through the case. Also do you mean 93F? 93C would mean that the card would be running at around 200 degrees. It should kick off far before it hits that temp. Perhaps you have a bad sensor?

ok i downloaded riva tuner the seem to run normal temp is still 66c-67c
maybe NVIDIA monitor is wrong or an error
thanks mrmez and F34R1355 maybe if a get more money ill try air conditioned case ^^
ill update my temp when it get too hot.

that case is a good idea, and I think the lesson is, always use rivatuner over standard programs (like ntune)
