I am ready to start ordering tonight, but I wanted to run a final check by the forum. Both for compatibility and lowest prices, so I'll be giving links to everything I'm ordering.

This is a gaming system that I plan on using for a couple of years. I have two 19" trinitron monitors that I'll be using.

  • Intel Q6600 G0 stepping, intending to OC to 3.0 GHz - $273.49 from ClubIT.
  • Sunbeam Tuniq Tower 120 (with AS Ceramique) - $62.98 from Frozen CPU.
  • MSI P35 Platinum motherboard - $149.98 (after $15 MIR) from ZipZoomFly.
  • OCZ 2 x 2 GB PC2-6400 memory - $210 (after $25 MIR) from ZipZoomFly.
  • XFX GeForce 8800GTS 320MB XXX video card - $299.99 from ZipZoomFly.
  • Western Digital 320 GB Hard Drive WD3200AAKS - $74.30 from ZipZoomFly.
  • Corsair 620W PSU - $116.90 (after $30 MIR) from ZipZoomFly (last one from them :)  ).
  • Antec P182 Case - $132.03 from TechOnWeb.
  • LITE-ON 20X DVD±R DVD Burner - $35.99 from Newegg.

So if you see any blatant problems, or know of a better price somewhere please let me know! The links all take you to the individual items, which is why there are several ZipZoomFly links.

    Thanks for your help!

    that'll work..........but i don't see a CD-ROM or 3.5" floppy.
Another HDD would be nice for back-up or a RAID configuration.

Looks good. No glaring problems, so no need to second-guess.
You may or may not want to add the floppy (do it if you need to load RAID and/or AHCP drivers on Windows load).

Do you need a faxmodem? Surge protector or UPS? Misc. cables?

Looks good as well. You could save a little money by going with the gigabyte DS3R board. You can also get the Corsair 520W unless you are going to get another graphics card later on that needs more power.
