bioshock demo goes though all hte normal stuff at the begging then it seems like it is going to work then it errors like hl fails or sum **** help help help

update to latest drivers, make sure your card supports shader model 3.0 (Radeon X1000 series and up, Nvidia 6000 series and up)

what did the trick for me was downloading the latest direct x update from microsoft. (not just dx10, but the update for it).
