Boot from atapi " no emulation".

Hello,
I am trying to replace hard drive I already bought.I have 2 dvd drive I tried both,same error givin me.But when I place the old hdd windows opens.What should I do

Hi, Sorry ,You're right."I am trying to replace hard drive,old 1 too small.I got PATA 320 Gig harddrive on my SONY desktop XP platform.Like I said when I replace new harddrive first window shows "Disk boot failure, insert disk and press enter", I insert the org xp disk new windows shows "Boot from ATAPI CD-ROM, NO EMULATION.
can you help.?
