Hello guys,
I have a question regarding my overclocking of E6300 on Asus P5N-E SLI mobo. I overclocked it from 1.86Ghz to 2.8Ghz. I have been running the stress test and everything is normal. But when I was running the stress test, the temperature actually went as high as 75C. Here's my configuration for bios. I raised FSB to 1600, CPU multipler to be 8, Core voltage to 1.296. When I'm not running stable, the temperature stays around 63 to 68 degrees. I was wondering if you guys have any suggestions as to what I can to do make the temperature to go down, and what else can I do to save power as well? Btw, I have 2 120mm fans running as well. Thanks for the help in advance

If you want so save power turn on C1E and Speedstep and don't OC.

3 ways to drop temps: New Heat sink, less Voltage, less frequency.

Voltage increases heat exponentially while frequency will increase it linearly.

Other than that, heed Comp's advice.

E6300 doesnt have an 8 multiplier. Or at least mine dont.

I am able to over clock and way undervolt the CPU. have you tried lowering your voltage? Some of the older e6300's (b2's) have a tremendous ability to be undervolted and stable, like mine.

Otherwise, I would say your problem probably lies in your heatsink. Also maybe your fan configuration.
