well, im bulding a new system and i of corse, need hard drives.

lots and lots of gaming, bragging rights are a second priority, (performance, not speed, i want it to do good in benchmarks and games.).

i was thinking-
1x 36gb wd raptor for windows ult 64

4x 250gb wd caviar-raid edition, for main storage(in raid 0)
380$ from the egg(i really would hate to spend that much on hard drives).

does having a raid edition hard drive make any difference at all? because if it does not, tiger direct is rinning a special on caviar 500gb-aaks

http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/searchtools/ite...

and maybe a 160 gb to put the page file on and some extra storage, would this be a smart idea? will puting a page file on a different drive be a performance boost? my friend says this is the only way to do it, and insists that i do it this way(he has the same setup as this). however i have heard good things about the seagates, but my friends insist wd is THE ONLY way to go.

another one of my goals is to kill his setup in benchies. he has a phenom 9400, 8800gtx, 2gb of ocz 1200 memmory, and that hdd setup.

thanks much :)

20 reads, and no posts... i think im going to go with the seagate 500 7200.10 porbably in a raid 0 array. but i need to know if there is any significant advantage to puting the os on a seperate drive, and putting the page file on a seperate drive.
