Does anyone know the safe maximum temperature an nForce 4 ultra chipset can handle?
I'm currently running 37ºC. I installed a passive cooler to get rid of a noisy fan a few days ago. I really haven't noticed much difference between the two besides this one may run a couple degrees warmer. I can idle anywhere from 30ºC~37ºC now (depending on room temperature). Any ideas?
oh your fine lol although I am trying to figure out the same thing....mine is running at 70C running prime 95 but goes back down to 32C when idle. it's running 70C because i have my CPU OC'd from 2.2-2.8GHz... I have heard that 80C is the max but not 100% sure

anyone know the max rated temps?
Crikey, doesn't yours have a HS or something? I can't see how it could possibly get that hot with even a passive HS. Unless you did some crazy volt-mods.
lol yeah... it's even an active hs (but a cheap one) like I said I am OC'n I have Vcore up to 1.4125V (which is 0.05V over stock) FSB @255MHz HTT @ 3X (765MHz) RAM @ DDR400

I am the Root of all your problems
I ran around 43C (for the NB) at 1.7V vcore (3700 sandy @2.8 approx on air) and 1.65V MCH with a small, actively cooled HS. Something doesn't seem right for you.
