Deleting Phantom Printer in XP

Hello,
I was in the middle of adding a IP port printer when I accidently closed the window before finishing. I restarted the process but when I try to add the IP address of the printer, an error message appears, "port address already assigned," yet the printer does not show in the printers window (control panel) in order for me to delete it. How do I delete the IP port address in order to reassign and start over?

It sounds like you have created the port, but not a printer to go with it. Have a look at the existing ports in the "Add Printer" dialog - you should see the one that you have created there and just select it for the printer you are creating.
