CeBIT 2008: New CPU and Water Coolers from Thermaltake

Published on March 08, 2008

If you need good cooling performance but one cooler just isn't enough, there is an obvious solution - just take two instead. It seems that is what Thermaltake's engineers must have been thinking when they came up with the DuOrb CL-P0464 cooler. It consists of two coolers stemming from the Orb series that are connected to the CPU cooling block via heatpipes. Read more

Here's the scoop. I'm looking to do some upgrading soon, and with the Phenoms sucking (and not really having that much money to spend), I'm looking at getting a 5000+ Black Edition. But, first thing's first. I need a recommendation on a cooler.

1. I'd prefer it to be something that won't have a high center of gravity or weigh a lot. I take my system back and forth from college, to LAN parties, etc., and I really don't want to have to worry about my motherboard bending/breaking. So basically, I'm not looking at tower coolers.
2. I've got a soft limit at $50, and definitely no more than $60.
3. Bling's nice, but it's not my top priority, obviously.
4. It has to fit on an Asus M2N-SLI Deluxe mobo.
5. I'm looking at the Zalman 8700, Thermaltake MaxOrb and V1, and Scythe Andy Samurai Master, but I'm open to any and all suggestions.

I have a Thermaltake Tsunami case with a fan above the processor, in case anybody's worried about clearance issues. I can't measure the distance right now, sorry...I'm on my laptop and won't have access to my PC until finals are over and I'm back home.

With those requirements I'd get the MaxOrb.

Thanks cnumartyr. I was leaning more toward the MaxOrb or the Samurai Master. Appreciate the feedback!
