Hey everyone!
i need some advice!

I want to upgrade my current e6300 who is mounted to this motherboard:
http://www.komplett.ie/k/ki.aspx?sku=323507

my question to you all is:
do i need to upgrade my current motherboard if i want a E6850 (3.0 duo 2 core) processor ?
i meen:
3.0 works in 1333hz
my motherboard in 1066hz
and my memory in 800hz (pc6400)

the thing is that my motherboard is just 4 months old and trying to slim down the price as much as possible, or will it cause a bottleneck with diffrent hz then cpu , will they even work together ?

it depends what revision of the motherboard you have, 1.0, 2.0 or 3.3?

Rev 1.0 and 2.0 are listed on the gigabyte website as only supporting 1066

Rev 3.3 is listed as supporting 1333 FSB

thanks, saved me tons of time, so you dont think the memory on 800 will be a bottleneck ?

and btw, tryed to flash to f10 version of bios, beacuse its required for 1333fsb.
getting errors :/

update: managed to flash the old way ;P with a floppy disk! yeeey

you should be fine - ramp it up to 375fsb+

i suggest you get a 6750 so you can run the 400fsb 1:!

you may need to reduce the multipler or crank the voltage to get 400fsb or just run the memory at tigher timings and lower speed.

allready orderd, and i belive that 3.0 duo 2 core is more opted for gameing then a quad cpu is, isnt it ?
