Could anyone in your experiance point me in the right direction. I need a cost effective graphics card to hold me over untill new build. Need to save a little more for system. I am currently using

Asus P4C800-E
P4 2.8 was 20% overclocked
Mushkin pc-3200 (2) 512mb
Dell 2007wp 1680x1050
Seasonic 400w psu

Fried ati 9800 aiw card, am using a borrowed 9000 pro that doesn't cut it. Would like to still play games such as Unreal Tournament untill replacement build. This will become my spare after new build for the grandkids. Thanks in advance.

I toasted my X800XT PE. I am using P4C800E deluxe with p4 3.4 And 1 gig ocz ram. I got this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6814161082 as I was told anything more would just be choked by my cpu. I think your psu might be a bit underpowered for this card, but I am not sure, depends on your psu specs and what else you have in your rig.

Thanks Guys. Gives me a direction to go. I'm leaning toward ethier the x1650 pro or 7600gs because of price. Maybe the 7600gt? I want to get the q6600,and 8800gts etc. etc. for new build. Hate to put to much in this system. Should I faver one of these cards over the other? Both between $80.00 and $90.00 (7600gt $125.00)

7600 GT is a great card, but what games are you going to play besides Unreal Tournament?

A 5200 would play that fine I would guess and they're like $40. My Voodoo 3 3000 played that game very well.

imo, get a 2nd hand 7600 gt or gs, and if you get a gs OC it like crazy since you don't really care so long as it lasts like, 3 months?

7600 gt in your price range and its EVGA so if your build is coming within next 90 days, stepup program baby.

You could probably pick one of these cards people are talking about on ebay for pretty cheap too. I know my x1800xt 256mb blows all of these cards away and it's going for under $100 on ebay.

If you're stuck between those two then just get the cheaper one, they perform roughly the same.

Thanks again for your help and opinions. Decided on the EVGA 7600gt. Just ordered it on newegg.
