ive heard from numerous sources that stated the mobo has a x16 slot, but its real bandwidth is only x8. if this is true, will using a x16 video card have any effects, or if it will work at all? for now all im using is an x1300 for PCI

well, as far as i know, if you have two x16 slots on the motherboard and only one video card, then it will run at x16. but if you are running two video cards(like me) each slot will run at x8

Aye, but what is it...those advanced Nvidia chipset boards will allow for full x16 bandwith for both lanes. They have 32 lanes all together. I don't have a link available at the moment, someone will :)

Dont take this as gospel but im fairly sure Cleeve did a test on this a while back and found that it didnt really make a diff.
Hopefully someone who knows for sure will come on and put us all at ease.
Sorry i couldnt help more but i thought i would mention it in case it jogged someones memory.
Mactronix :)

so i can pretty much use any graphics card at full power pretty much? and if there is a difference, what will the effects be? like maybe a lower fps or such?

I have exactly the same problem with you. I have an Asus A8N-SLI rig and my 7800 GTX operates at 8x (according to cpu-z). I made a post in this forum a few months back, but ppl told me not to bother as the differences between 8x and 16x are minimal in real world performance. But since my board supports it, why not have it? Can I manually set the PCI-x lanes to x16?
