The GTX says you should have:

"Minimum of a 450 Watt power supply.
(Minimum recommended power supply with +12 Volt current rating of 28 Amps.)"

I have 2x6 pin power connectors. Does this mean that the combined amps of both the connectors must be that or more? Or does it mean that EACH must be at least 28 amps?

after some reading, I think I understand.

* +5V, +12V1, 12V2 and +3.3V maximum output: 410 Watts max
* +5V and +3.3V combined output: 150Watts
^^

So this means 410/12 = 34A

Not necessarily, according to what you just wrote you also have to factor in the 3.3V and 5V rails, which could leave the 12V with very little. What brand and model is your PSU?

The GameXStream is a pretty decent unit and all, but I would go for something with better quality like the Corsair 620HX, a bit more expensive depending on where you shop, but has better quality components and in my opinion better stability.
