I just got a new 22" LCD that runs 1680x1050 and am building a comparable computer to run games at high but not ultra settings.  The budget is around $1000 and I already have an OS, keyboard, mouse, speakers.  I do not plan on overclocking or RAID.

Total $925.92, not including shipping and there is one small rebate.

Any suggestions on changes? And how do I tell what shipping will be for the lot?  Also, I'm worried that the video card will plummet in price in like a month or two when some newer models come out as the 8800GTS has been at the same price point for quite some time now.

Thanks!

looks very good , 8800gts will do fine on resolutions up to 1600x1200,

but in 1600x1200 , it loses to a 8800gts 640 in many cases , so i say if u can go for a 8800gts 640 for that resolution (however , if u dont mind playing @ ultra settings ,the 8800gts 320 should suffice)

I just changed the HD since besides gaming I also do some intensive data mining and figured a 10k rpm drive would give me enough of a performance boost to warrant the extra cost.  My friend said that his 10k drive outperforms his 7200rpm raid so decided this was the best route.

It pushed me over my soft limit of $1k but that's not a huge problem.

Looks pretty good.  I have a Raptor too, but I don't really see a big difference compared with a good 7200RPM drive.  The Seagate you had was actually pretty fast.

Over all that's a good build :)

if you have questions let me know.  I pmed you too.  msg me anytime at aim or yahoo, Maximus9102.  I'm always happy to help.
