3D Mark06 might be "the benchmark" in the Far Easy
but around here most people dont want to sit in front of the PC and run 3D Mark06 all day.
11,400 3DMarks ?? If ATI cant turn those 3DMarks into FPS & Quality/HDR AA/AF advantages Nvidia will continue crying all the way to the bank as they get Spanked in 3D Mark06.
Hopefully ATI will turn out a winner this time around.

Is the RV670 the same as the upcoming ATI HD 2950 cards?

Saw a few reports that it is meant to match the 8800 GTX/Ultra and be DirectX 10.1, is that correct?

Also, did ATI fix the AA performance issues that the HD 2900 cards had with the 2950?

What it is meant to do, and what it does do are two different things. Until official unbiased (not inq or fud or manufacturer "adjusted" ) data is released, we only ever know what it is meant to do.

I expect theyve tweaked it a bit, I dont think they can solve it though due to its hardware limitations compared to the g80's.

They will be. They'll likely be better then the 8800gts and the r600.

Holy hell! You really don't know the people here do you? An extra 100 points in 3D Mark06 is worth another inch on the old e-penis.

Don't forget that the G80's have been around for nearly a year and they are supposed to be coming out with some new GPU's over the next few months that should leave even leave the 8800GTX in the dust. Also the G80's are still selling like hot cakes, even though ATI is picking up steam I don't know if it'll be able to build up enough force to take any kind of lead.

However I will say that some future NVidia chipset concepts seem a little sketchy, but who knows. I'd like to see if Intel is going to revise the P35 or come out with something other than the X38 that has PCI-e 2.0.
