Hello ladies and gentlemen. As you can see from my post count I am new to this forum. Funny thing is I am really into computers/technology but have never join a tech forum before until now. What I really like about this site were the articles and different sections they had, not just computer related.

So to my question. I need a replacement card for awhile and there is a guy in my area selling a EVGA 7900GT 512mb for $125. I been trying to pull up some review and specs of this card but it seems to not exist anymore. How come? I wanted to know if $125 would be worth it for this card. I am also hoping this guy knows about ESD so its doesn't fail on me months down the line because of that. If you guys could give me any specs or opinion that would be much appreciated.

Thanks

my 7900gt lasted just over a year .. great card ( I ran f.e.a.r. for a good 2000 hours i,m sure, in itself ).. but make sure the fan is clean, and test it.. if u see any dead pixal dots .. dont buy it! mine has like 50 dead dots on it ...but I didnt keep it clean .. so I'm taking blame for that.

I bought my friends 7950GX2 for last week to repleace my card ... sweet deal @ $175

In my opinion, a used 7900GT is not worth $125. There have been rare deals on cards equal in performance brand new for that price. Being a 512MB version, and evga that he could probably RMA for lifetime (not transferable to you though), you could argue it's a good deal. But personally, I would rather have a brand new X1950 pro for that price AR:

Or if you like NV, a 7900GS brand new for $110:

Thanks for all the replies. I will think about it some more and decide from there. I was trying to push for $100 but he was pretty firm. Said he bought it 3 months ago on newegg for over $250. I tried to look on newegg but they didn't have it anymore. I did see the "regular" 7900GT 256mb for around $220-$250 which supposedly has a slower core clock too.
