hand cannon and chicago typewriter??

I've already beaten pro and normal, but where do I get the chicago
typewriter, and the hand cannon. I figure getting the hand cannon
requires geting a 5 star rating with all characters on all levels. At
least I'm hoping so. Therefore I figure getting the five pendants in
Assignment Ada earns me the privelige of purchasing the chicago
typewriter. If anyone can tell me if my assumption are correct or not,
I would apprecieate it very much. Otherwise I've wasted much time in
The Mercenaries game.

Thanks in advance
Joe Vig

Joe,
You get the chicago typewriter, and the hand cannon on your second play
thru. You must gather all plaga samples (five) with Ada, and survive, to get
the chicago typewriter. You must get 20 (twenty) 5-star ratings in the
mercenaries to get the hand cannon. Yes, twenty! The typewriter will cost
1,000,000 and the hand cannon is free! Enjoy.

The Chicago Typewriter is a blast to play with. You can basically run
run through the game and never let up on the fire button. Beat ADA's
mission and you can buy it from the merchant.

Definitely, the typewriter is such an awesome weapon to use!! Just thought
i'd add that since Susan (hey gurl hehehe) has told you everything you
need to know. Enjoy but hopefully you have more luck with getting the
handcannon, I'm only 2 stages away from getting it so good luck!!!

You mean only one stage to go. Soon you'll be knocking back huge crowds (and
yourself) with a single shot!!!!! Did I mention the hand cannon was loud?

Hi Susan, by now I have got that BIG beauty already hehehe isn't such a
magnificent gun and yes I agree it is so loud. I had to turn the volume
down, my mum kept wondering what on earth that noise was each time I fired
the handcannon hahaha. Take Care

Zaria,
Congrat's again on a job well done!!! You should try head phones!!! Some of
the weapons have a really nice base sound. The constant chanting in the
castle can be a bit much though!

Hey Susan wow I never thought of that, I think I might go try using
headphones because my cheap Sony TV sounds so tinny hahaha.

Ok, I'm not sure about the "Hand Cannon", but, you can BUY the "Chicago Typewriter" after you complete "Seperate Ways".
The "Merchant" will have an updated list and the "Chicago Typewriter" is available for $300,000.00 Not 1 million.
When you use it the second time around in "Seperate Ways", the only other weapon you'll need is the "Rifle" for long distance kills. The "C.T." is the ultimate, infinite ammo, weapon you can get for this "Extra" section.
It will be most enjoyable to blast away those parasite ridden creeps with ease. You can even kill those "El Gigantes with it!
You cannot get any weapons in "Assignment Ada" cause, the "Merchant" doesn't show up at all. You'll also notice that you won't get gold or stuff you can "sell". The "Merchant" doesn't show up in this "Extra" section of the game.

Resident Evil 4 is like the best game ever i already unlocked everythin, beat the game about 7 times but I CANNOT GET THE FREAKING HANDCANNON. Can u guys or gurls give me some advice PLEASE!!! :D

LOL. RyanK, double-poster. Chicago is indeed the best weapon, in a general opinion/view. Handcannon is amazing for bosses, though. <__<

Chicago Typewriter: I'm not sure whether you're talking about Wii/PS2 Version of GameCube version. In the GameCube version, it's 300,000 PTAS, because it just is. In Wii/PS2 it's still 1,000,000 PTAS.

Handcannon: Yeah, you gotta get 5-stars with every character on all stages, in the 'Mercenaries' mini-game. It's a lot harder than it sounds. There are usually some guides, though, and I managed it by running around looking for every time upgrade and figuring out where they were, then collecting all of them really early on, and letting loose with powerful weapons. It's also free. :3 ( I think it's only available on the second playthrough. )

Also, on another note, who'd rather have Luis Sera as a permanent partner than Ashley? Ashley is freaking USELESS. Unless she's in a suit of armour. Then she's alright, she knocks the enemies down. <___< But by that time, you should have the Chicago Typewriter, so you don't need to knife people.

As ryank hasnt posted on the forums in over a year I doubt hes likely to read your lol'ing at his double post. I strongly suspect the OP (3 and a half years ago) wasnt using a wii, and probably got his typewriter and handcannon quite some time ago...

Perhaps though you could tell me at led you to this topic though? Weve had a real rash of grave disturbances recently...

I just finished the Mercenaries (all 5 stars!) to receive the Hand Cannon on the Wii. Unfortunately it wasn't worth all the trouble getting. IMO, to get 5 stars on all characters was much harder than finishing the Resident Evil game! I had the hardest time finishing the Waterworld with Wesker. Many times I got 59k before time ran out or I died. Now that really sucked! But when I got 60k last night I tried the Hand Cannon (after upgrading it to unlimited) and I wasn't impressed at all. Here are my recommendations in order of the weapons on the Wii I like: Chicago Typewriter, PVRL (that laser gun), Mine Thrower (fully upgraded), Hand Cannon, and lastly the Rocket Launcher (although it takes way too long to setup and launch, but it is fun to blow up zombies with a rocket).
