P35-DS3P - BIOS Resets Itself?

I've had a new system up for a couple of weeks and I've had it running fine overclocked to 3.2GHz. To do that, I just bumped up the CPU Host Freq. to 400 and the multiplier to x2. So tonight, after reading an article here on Tom's, I bumped the FSB up to 425, left the multiplier at x2 and left the voltage settings on Auto (CPU-Z reports a core voltage of 1.44).

After rebooting and opening CPU-Z, I found that eveything had defaulted back to 2.6GHz. After going into BIOS, the CPU Host Clock Control was back to Disabled.

Every time I try to go above 3.2GHz, BIOS disables CPU Host Control. I would expect a BSOD rather than the BIOS resetting itself if it saw something it didn't like.

Is this a voltage issue? Memory timings?

Here's what I've got:

E6750
Gigabyte P35-DS3P
Patriot Extreme 2x1GB running at stock timings
EVGA 8800GT
Antec 500W Neo

Any ideas would really be appreciated.

Thanks.

You should not set voltage on auto. It will always certainly give too much voltage.

If you have further questions, refer to the guide in the overclocking section before posting.
