Hi, i have an old 250 gig, and just got a new 500 seagate. I have partitioned the seagate, and have taken a direct image (using driveclone) to part of the 500gig seagate.

I want windows to load off the 250 gig, and just use the rest of the seagate for data.

But, windows seems to load off the new drive, which i do not want.

Do i have to set master/slave? If so, how.

I have an A8n Sli deluxe mobo

All help for this retardo appreciated!

If they are both IDE you do - look on the drive for which pins to put the jumper onto (beside its power plug & parallel cable). Otherwise just pick the right order as the boot order in the bios' boot menu.

Choose the 250GB as the 1st hard drive in the hard drives priority in the BIOS boot menu (as shown in the bottom picture of page 2-33 in the manual (http://dlsvr01.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/socket939/A8N-SLI/e2068_a8n-sli.pdf)).
