1 x 8800GTS or 2 x 8600GTS in SLI Mode?

I have a BFG 8800GTS card at the moment but was wondering weather it would be better to run 2 8600GTS cards in SLI mode instead? I have thought of 2 x 8800GTS cards but to be honest I just cant afford it, I can get 2 8600GTS's for the price of 1 8800GTS if you get my drift

Any advice greatly received

1 GTS im pretty sure.

Sli = heat = 2x power consumption = noise = less pci slots :)

And in most cases less performance on the PC, excluding 3d programs

If you already had the 8800gts keep it,2x8600gts= 1 8800gts only when SLI is working well, which is nto all the time. The rest of the time the 8800gts would crush the 8600gts'

Only time I would recommend the 2 8600gts's is if you already had one 8600gts, a SLI motherboard/power supply, and were getting a really good deal on second 8600gts...

Where I am one (1) 8600GTS costs a bit more than half for one (1) 8800GTS.. unless you mean you can't afford a new PSU (if you need one).

Anyways. 2x8600 < 8800.
