I new to building up a PC..Is the power for 8800 gts come from the 16X pci-e connector itself? When I turned the system power button on, case speaker made an alarm sound....no video came up...there are connectors on the IP35 pro MB labelled PCI-e power and AUX pci power

Do I need to connect power to those 2 MB connectors for 8800 gts to work?

Thanks in advance ,
Vince

Theres a power connector for the GTS? ...You have to plug something into the card, I dont know what, it should have came with your gfx card. It plugs on the end of the card.

Power for the GTS comes from the pcie slot and also a 6 pin pcie connection from the psu, if your psu does not have a 6 pin connector you would use the "Y" adaptor that is included with the card.
The connections on your motherboard are there to provide power to it not to the card.

look at this picture and follow the red line:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/ShowImage.aspx?CurImage=14-130-071-04.jpg&Image=14-130-071-10.jpg%2c14-130-071-02.jpg%2c14-130-071-03.jpg%2c14-130-071-04.jpg%2c14-130-071-05.jpg%2c14-130-071-09.jpg%2c14-130-071-11.jpg&S7ImageFlag=0&Depa=1&Description=EVGA+GeForce+8800GTS+640-P2-N821-AR+Video+Card

PCIe 1 is an expansion slot not a power connection, the 4 pin Molex connection is there to provide extra power for the second PCIe slot if you intend to go sli.
Put the card in the slot, add the 6 pin connection from the psu to the card and enjoy.
