Your mb is fine, however I'll suggest the Gigabyte DS3R P35 mb just cause it supports DDR3 and DDR2. If you want to overclock even higher than 475mhz, a better ram would be from Crucial. But I don't think you're gonna go that far with a Q6600 anyways.

so that motherboard is a good one? also would that ram be good for overclocking or is there something better?

That motherboard is a great choice.
Your RAM is good for overclocking the CPU but less effective for OC'ing the RAM if you plan to do that.
Most of the time you'll get better RAM OC'ing with 4x1GB CL4 (4-4-4-12) RAM. But you dont need to OC RAM to overclock your CPU.
An agressive OC for the Q6600 2.4Ghz (9 multi x 266Mhz FSB = 2.4Ghz) would be in the area of 3.2~3.4Ghz. That would have the FSB at ~355Mhz - ~377Mhz. Since the DDR2 800 RAM runs at 400Mhz (400Mhz x 2 = 800) you'll be able to push the FSB to 400Mhz (3.6Ghz for the Q6600) before you'll even need to think about overclocking the RAM.
