I just put together the system listed below. I can boot into BIOS fine but I get an error when trying to install windows Xp Pro. The drive spins up fast then slows down quick when windows is copying files and then I get this error: "STOP: c0000221 Unknown Hard Error \SystemRoot\System32\ntdll.dll" What could be causing this?
OCZ Platinum 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model OCZ3P13332GK
AMD Athlon II X2 240 Regor 2.8GHz Socket AM3 65W Dual-Core Processor Model ADX240OCGQBOX

What SP is the XP disc? You may need to slipstream SP3 in the disc. There's several things that can cause that error though. Since you're installing off the disc, the file likely isn't corrupted. Double check and make sure the disc isn't scratched or smudged. http://pcsupport.about.com/od/fixtheproblem/a/ntdlldll.htm

Problem fixed. Bad optical drive.
Also a very good possibility
To go along with a scratched/smudged disc, some drives don't read the disc very well.
