Call Of Duty 4 : Modern WareFare Demo

Check my config, I put some setting (I cant remember which), higher than default and all I could see what white and black funkyness, then changed to default, it ran smooth. If it can run on consoles it can run on a gts/gtx lol. Is there a way to check fps in game other than fraps etc?

I tried it yesterday and it ran fine on my system @ 1680x1050 with high settings and 2xAA. FPS from low 40's to max 90 from fraps. And this is pre-release so final version should be a bit more optimized. It think this game is the sleeper title of the autumn gaming season. From what I've seen from the demo very very intense action.

i think i have the lowest internet connection here , my DL speed is 12KB per second , in IRAN , Fast internet connections are very expensive , for example i am paying $30 a month for my internet which is only 12KB per second :(

Anyone think the demo is a little too short? I haven't played a COD game before so it was hard to get a feel for it. It was pretty intense though I will give it that. I am more into the multi-player side of games though...would have been nice if there was a demo for that too.

i think you can only put the settings to medium in the game. cause i get crazy framerates with a 7600gt maxed out graphics 10*7 in the demo and texture res says "normal"

ps: unreal tournament 3 demo out at fileshack

Can you explain what you just said.
"crazy framerates" - do you mean high or low frame rates?
"with a 7600gt maxed out" - do you mean video settings set to max?
"graphics 10*7" - ??
"texture res" - do you mean texture quality?

Specs:
Amd x2 5200
2gb ddr2 ram
256mb 8600gt

1280x1024 resolution
Everything enabled except for AA
Texture settings all at 'Extra'
AF slider all the way up

Inside buildings 60fps+
Outside 30-40fps when it gets intense like close to firefights and explosions it dips around 25fps.

Runs pretty good along with ET:QW

I ran it at 1680x1050 with 4xAA and all in game qualities at the highest. The game was perfectly smooth, but I'm not a big fan of the Call of Duty series and this felt just like Call of Duty 2, but in the 21st century.

crazy=high
video settings to max
10*7=resolution 1024x768
i think the in game settings says texture resolution and the max i can put it is normal

me too i got a feeling of more of the same. i think they just went with the classic formula which worked good. but i think it s kind of less realistic IMO(i wasnt involved in any war in my life). i mean can assume lots of germans were popping out like they did in cod2 50 years ago but in modern war...i doesnt feel right. i was less drawn in

WOW, intense demo... runs amazing on an 8800GTS 640MB with the rest of my aging components (Opty 165 DC OC'd to 2.25Ghz with 2 GB ram). This REALLY makes me realize how poorly 2k Games coded Oblivion, I am getting frames that never dip below 55 in COD4.

I will wait till this game hits 30$ tho, saving my time/money for Crysis as I find COD4 is nothing groundbreaking compared to the rest of the series.

@Maziar: If you have COD2 don't bother, same deal. Would love to have seen how this thing runs on my 6800GS that I recently pulled out of this system... I am really curious how they coded COD4 so well, it is so smooth it feels like you are there...

Well, I am crossing my fingers that Crysis uses similar FPS magic :)

How can you compare to oblivion? you have 360 degrees not blocked by 2 walls... ever notice how oblivion runs 10x better indoors? But yeah, I do agree there's some optimisation needed.

DAMMIT PEOPLE! IF A GAME COMES OUT ON THE XBOX IT WILL WORK EASILY ON ANY NEW GAMING PC. Phux sakes.

Plus i have never seen such terrible bump maps before in my life, they are really stretching the xbox's performance. terrible graphics....but still looks like tonnes of fun.

Yeah, and that's the reason they won't get my money.

I dont think COD4 is a heavy graphics hogging game. I say this cause i really think that they used alot of the COD2's game engine and rehashed it with a few upgrades. The demo played and felt like the demo of COD2 2 years back. It's nothing card hungry like Crysis, i think alot of people will find it card friendly. I ran the demo 1600 x 1200 as full blast settings on my 7800GT and it ran smoth with no hiccups. I tried to do the same with Crysis and i got my a$$ handed to me. As for the game, demo played great, nice additions and feel. Let's hope it lives up to the hype.
