Good evening!

I am trying and trying to get my PC to boot and to go to Windows when cpu is oc'd, but I end up shutting down the power, unplugging the power cord, uplugging all other cables, opening my case, carrying my PC to the nearest table of over 5meters, removing couple of devices inside my case with hasstle, removing the battery with lots of efforts, changing the cmos to reset mode, and then, do that all again!

Argh this is getting me mad

The last settings I tried were

333 fsb & 667 mem speed = 1:1
5-5-5-15 latencies (I have Transcend 800MHz 4-4-4-12 DDR2)
I put memory voltage to ~2v
I put vcore to ~1.4v
Other voltages are at auto as I have no idea what to put.
I have also tried settings all voltages to auto.

I have read the OC guide now five times throughouhly (however it's spelled dunno) and I when I boot my PC it starts and then I am unable to get even to BIOS... but sometimes I manage to get even into BIOS wow ! :pt1cable:

Never managed to even see the Windows loading after boot, ugh I guess that's not good...

What should I try? The specs are the following:
Q6600 still at 2.4GHz :( (I WOULD BE HAPPY WITH 3.0GHz OC)
Tuniq Tower 120 Ultra Silent Rev.2
ASUS P5N-E SLI
Transcend 2GB DDR2 800MHz 4-4-4-12

More specs just ask.

This is taking me ages to even get myself booted into Windows not to talk about getting my system stable :pfff:

Your help is really appreciated! :bounce:

And oh, I am unable to edit messages so I need to reply...

I have G0 revision of Q6600 with a Tuniq Tower 120 Ultra Silent Rev.2, those together SHOULD get my CPU to 3.0GHz @< 60C under load?

Sorry if i miss something, but better to check than sorry. :)

At what fsb your computer stop working? did you raise the FSB up to 333 in one try or in steps of 20?

Power supply?

When i overclocked my CPU, i had to do it by little steps.

From stock values, i raised the FSB only by 20, from 266 to 280 and reboot (yes, thats not 20, but i like round numbers).
Loaded windows, ran prime95 for a few minutes and went back to the bios and raised 20 more, from 280 to 300, and windows, prime bla bla!

At the first sign of problems, i raised the vcore by .25 and tested again.

If i tried to jump directly from 266 to 300 or even 290 i had problems (windows doest boot up, etc...)
All this is in the guide, is it possible you got anxious and skip that? :)

Hey No expert here. however i use the same mobo asus p5n sli and also have prob overclocking, noted other people seem to have similar probs with this board. i've e6420 duo (2.13Ghz) and cant get stable 2.64Ghz and over, seemingly not the best overclockers board. Wat BIOS Revision u running?
