hi all! im new to the forums but toms reviews are the best in my book. this is my 1st full build. i had a dell e510 p4 previosly that i mangled my 7900gtx into with a x-fi xtrememusic and 2g of cheap ram. hd went bad on it so i figured its core 2 duo time! heres the new rig its actually been running for 4 months

e6600
2g ocz platinum rev 2 6400 4-4-4-15
asus p5n32-e sli plus
7900 gtx
freezer 7 pro

when i first set it up (about 4 months ago) had trouble getting the ram right because of voltage. i got it all working great at 3.1gs, without the x-fi from my prev computer using the soundmax card. ive been fortunate enuff to have the crysis beta and have been playing the hell out of it! it rocks hard! well i lost cable last week and of course couldnt play any of my fun internet games so i thought hey, ill put my sweet x-fi in while i cant play games. of course it was a headache and at one point my rig started freezing and restarting while doing anything. it progressivly got worse so i redid all my x-fi stuff, moved and reseated the ram, and then used asus' great tool for flashing bios! i think its called live update. (i know its crap) but i flashed it to 805 and what do you know my comps back to flying. i reboot and get back into crysis and play flawlessly for about 2 hours at about 50 fps (on low settings) and for once i actually chose to close the game instead of bieng treated to a freeze or restart. before i go to bed i started up convertxtoDVD and begin to incode a new music video dvd before i go to bed (so i can bang it on the way to work) when i woke up the screen was blank. my case fans and lights were still on but my dvd tray wasnt open so i knew something had happened. well now it wont post! all the fans spin even on my 7900gtx the dvd drives have power and i think i hear the hard drive spinning but i cant tell also my old ps2 keyboard will light up when i plug it in but no keys work (caps lock and num lock dont turn on the lights). but thats it nothing on my tv. ive tried the following to remedy and rule out things.

1 removed all but one stick of ram and vid card = nada
2 tried different plugs for my vid card (dvi, component) =nada
3 reset cmos connector and pulled battery for about 2 hours = nada
4 swapped the power supply for the crappy one outof my dell =nada
5 crammed cheap pc4200 ram into my asus board =nada
6 pulled it all out of the case and set it up on a test bench =nada
7 removed all the stuff and packed it into my dell and ding ding ding the ram works fine vid card fine everything so so the only things left are my e6600 or my asus p5n32-e sli plus

ive pretty much given up and the worst part it i got everything from newegg..... exept for the board!! i got it off ebay and of course it said it had a warantee but when i checked the site it said to contact your reseller.

basically if anyone can give me anymore tricks to get my c2d going again i would love you for it (but not in that way) also if anyone knows how can i warantee my board if i find out that is the problem. thanks all for reading and any help u can give.

toms rocks
