quote thing:
Update (10/10/07): We asked and AMD was on the ball -- when we said that "AMD needed to put some work in" they were apparently doing just that. While the single card performance of the HD 2900 XT didn't improve as much as I was hoping, the fact that AMD was able to address so many CrossFire issues all at once leads me to believe that more performance gains are on the way.
?
any way i think i'll download this and give it a try at least its not subtracting performance...

i just tried the new drivers and i just benched F.E.A.R. With the 7.7 drivers the ave. fps was 56 and with the new 7.10 it jumped up to 68! a 12.5% increase ain't too bad :) hopefully it's the same across the board for all the other games and cards.

Thanks for posting. I think that is awsome. If nVidia released a driver that would give me a 12FPS increase I would pee my pants!

Do you own any DX10 games? if so, please bench those. :)

Actually they only claimed 70% in 2 games, and one far outstripped that and the other fell short. Considering it's pretty much a 'best case scenario' how can we tell where it's a fact or not based on the short test in PCper? They got 93 and 50 % increases in those 2 games.

Perhaps not the full 70% for Bioshock, but enough of an improvement to not write it off as conclusive from just one sample of tests.

Although the humourous part is even than 90% improvement was still unplayable.

Never. To answer your question. ;)

Really seldom companies support out dated products, or products they intend on replacing. Either that or they'll get les and less support. A GREAT example is the support from EA Games and Battlefield 2. That game NEEDS support, but the game is no longer their top Battlefield product, so it receives no support. Or why X1800XT's get nowhere near support an HD2900XT would. See what I'm getting at with this?

also with this "software crossfire" sounds interesting too

support for battlefield 2142 may as well have died 8months ago.

I won't even try to run Crysis until the Yokfield & r700/g100 comes out. By then, even DX10/Vista may be mature
