More about : ultimate gaming
If you have money to blow get 2 Black Pearl 8800's (water cooled) wait for a AMD quad, PSU get a Thermaltake Tough power 1000w, G15 Keyboard, I like Samsung and Viewsonic for monitors.
you wont get incredibly far with the most high end system with $5,000.00. your gonna have to make sacrifices to make the budget.
...unless you can raise it to 7,000.00 then we can talk lol

ExtremeTech's Killer Gaming Rig You don't need to get the suggested 30" LCD. Some prices should be lower now.

Also keep an eye out for the X-38 motherboards (Crossfire not SLI) and the dual socket Intel Skulltrail.

When I slipped in my dual 8800 GTX cards there didn't look to be much room left in that last slot so good luck getting a sound card in - I ended up using the Asus sound card that comes with the board and sounds great.
Click on my system specs and that will get you to around $4500.00 - the only way you can spend more is getting the Ultra's and bumping up to the Intel 6850 Chip - and of course that memory would be more pricey. Don't forget your operating system which varries in price depending on how much you feel like being ripped off.
Also a game developer (12 years now)

Ok Nick. I havnt forget the 52" Lol. I got that as my main monitor on my wall right now in my office. I need two like 26" beside it. You guys all got great idea's. Cool Generic your a game developer! Thats wicked ive been one for 7 years. Madrox I can raise it to 7 grand no problem
Nick the reason Its going to be aroudn 5000$ is I want everything the best it can be. I want DDR3 Memory which is like 1.2 thousand alone for 4gb of it. I want dual 8800 Gtx Ultra's. Im thinking of calling Nvidia and getting a custom board done but probably not. I have a Windows Xp Pro and Windows Vista Ultimate and all the programs needed already. 2 Black Pearls 8800's? Never heard of those Ill look up on it. The first thing I am ordering is the case
So that would be the first suggestion I need right now
But feel free to suggest other high tech things too. Nick! Now your thinking High tech acourse I am getting Blue Ray! I am setting up Raid 5 Mirrior on my hard drives. So if you guys could give links on what you are talking about that would be great
Mad-Dog that would be a wicked case to mod... Could paint some blue flames on it. Or maybe put a smooth brushed aluminum finish on it. Would look sick. Put a retractable 7" touch screen in a 5.25" drive bay. But if you could try and find a Pre-Modded case
Would look sick if it had something to do with skulls

Sorry for giving you such a hard time. If I were you I would wait untill Christmas if you can. Mainly I would say have everything planned out and then on Black Friday order you stuff.
On a side note. I would get EVGA video cards. On the chance the next gen video cards come out soon atleast you can upgrade your cards.

Im so excited about it + If you didnt read my post heres a reminder Im a game developer and my system is failing and I want to spend my money to get the best system I can get right now. With all the gadgets, etc. The reason im getting a DDR3 motherboard is its feature proof and someone over-clocked to 2032Mhz on a Asus Motherboard

Ok. I got my motherboard and Cpu they are. Asus P5K3 Deluxe WiFi Motherboard CPU Bundle - Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 Processor 2.40GHz OEM. http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/searchtools/item... Theres the link to them they come in a bundle
Now I have my motherboard and CPU need the Graphics Card, Physical Card, RAM,Hard Drive, DVD Burner, CD-Rom and all the other gadgets

I don't think there's a motherboard that supports SLI and DDR3...And if that's true, I'd go for the DDR3, like from kingston. Obviously you gotta get an Ultra, how about MSI's overclocked Ultra? The OX6850 is also an obvious choice. As for the HDs, you can get the WD's AAKS 500gig model. They are currently the fastest HD according to THG. The PSU would have to be Sliverstone 1200Watt, I read it is pretty good and quite. For the motherboard, I'll suggest Asus P5K3, although the newer x38 mbs are coming out soon. For the heatsink(only) go with the thermalright Ultra 120, it is the best heatsink you can get. You gotta buy a fan too, but I'm pretty sure you can pick it yourself. I don't what to suggest for the rest of your pc.
I picked out The Asus P5K3 Deluxe WiFi bundled with a Quad Core. It doesnt support SLI bit it supports Cross Fire so Ill get those video cards. I picked out the Ultra X3 1000W 85%+ PSU. Im in love with ultra plus the case I picked out has a door opening to the front of the case were you mount the CD-Rom and stuff. A removabal motherboard tray and much more
Im getting a vapor cool system or a water cool system for my baby

Also keep an eye out for the X-38 motherboards (Crossfire not SLI) and the dual socket Intel Skulltrail.
Skulltrail is joke FB-DIMMS and sli uses pci-e x16 1.1 not 2.0 running on x16 pci-e 1.1 bus spilt to 2 full pci 1.1 x16 slots.
AMD 4x4 system with dual quad-core will blow it away and it will use DDR2 ram with sli with 2 full x16 slots 2.0 with left over pci-e 2.0 lanes or cross fire x16-x16 + x4 pci-e 2.0 or x8 x8 x8 x8 + x4 pci-e 2.0 with htx slots.

Skulltrail Preview
Not only will a amd 4x4 board cost less it will use cheaper ram it will have better chipset i/o Skulltrail will use a full sever chip set + a nvidia chip set 2 FSB with no cpu to cpu link without useing the chipset and nvidia chipset is linked by pci-e also the NB to SB link uses pci-e.
4x4 right now is useing 2 nvidia chipsets like the old x16 SLI boards but with 2 full ht cpu to chipset links form cpu to chipset with 2 HT links left over.
The amd 4x4 chipset will be 1 chipset NB to SB linked by pci-e? with 1 or 2 ht links? or can use 2 full NBs chips with one link each for alot of pci-e lanes with 2-3 full ht links left for HTX slots with less power need by the chipset then with a intel system.

so probably another grand or two. Ordered everything this morning and I ordered a vapor cooling system as well. It only covers the CPU and Chipset. So I am getting water cooling for the graphics cards and the hard drive. I am still getting some exhaust fans so it takes all the dust out. + Jll use a botle of a compressed air every now and then to get it out. I found a keyboard that is a virtual keyboard so I am so getting that. Its a light that shows a keyboard and the light knows which one your typing on
Anyways gtg to work

I could be wrong but wouldnt you want to test your games on a POS computer? I mean most people cannot spend the type of money you can. If you make a game that runs smooth on your PC, I personally would not even be able to load it.
Look at WOW, alot of people say the GFX suck on it. BUT blizzard has between 7-9 million people per month paying to play. If those people had to have a super fast PC they just wouldnt play.

You should get this with the X-Fi card, that's the best sound you can get for a PC using PC components. I'm sure there are better "professional" sound cards, but they won't have Creative EAX support like the X-Fi.

Anyways gtg to workthe Killer Gaming NIC Card is crap and the nforce board does the same thing.
the reason i said that was because in a month or two nvidia is releasing their new g92 cards which a single nvidia 9800 will rape a dual 8800ultra, but i see you have some brains and bought evga for the step-up program. as for the qx6800... in my thoughts its a complete waste of money. your vapor cooler/phase change cooling will drop your chip to -45c or so but with a maximum oc of around 4.7gigz. the qx6950 is just around the corner. why not go for a server motherbord with dual pci-e and install 2 q6600 for a total of 8 cores running at 4.5gigz. you might have to do a little modding to your gtxs but its been done before.and the results are FLIPPING SICK!!!. also native quadcores with HT is just around the corner. yes its a server platform but there are hacked beta drivers and mod and such that allows you to use your banging system for all your needs and even for gaming.( dual intels quads with HT means 16 working threads plus g92's with sli or even TRI SLI = ASS RAPE. yes i said THREE PCI-E 2.0.
thats all just around the corner. if anyone asked tell them a little bird told u.
thats all just around the corner. if anyone asked tell them a little bird told u.
The Nforce board is amazing... I have it now for my setup and its wicked. I cant squeeze in a sound card cause I got dual 8800 GTX's. Also nick I already have a system built for the game. I have one for the minimum requirments from parts laying around the house that happend to be the minimum requirments. Then a medium one I bought the parts for then. This this system for max requirments
