I was looking around on new egg for a p35 mobo that i want to use for my new pc when i came across the DFI blood iron. It looks like a great choice for what i want to do. I want to OC a E2160 3.6GHz, don't want SLI or crossfire cause i just want one 8800GTX. I was looking at the gigabyte P35 DS3R as well. What is the better board for getting the most out of my cpu? Thanks for the help!

Knowing what I know about gigabyte boards I'd go with that one. I read a couple of reviews about the dfi board in the past and it wasn't quite as good...... wasn't bad either, but..................... gig will give you a little more performance.

I had suspected memory controller issues with my P35 Gigabyte. Tried very hard to get it stable with memory listed on their site as compatible, but no joy. The DFI LP currently in my case runs beautifully. Try these for research:

Also - Some of the guys on the DFI forums are *serious* benchmarkers. Check the "Out Of Warranty" section of the DFI forums to see how stupidly fast these guys get systems on these boards running: http://csd.dficlub.org/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=70
